Busy Beaver

Last chomps at the trees before leaving them to weaken through the summer & become victims to next winter's storms. This one has built her/himself a very comfortable slipway to the one arable field in the area that normally provides their summer food - maize.

I think the first time I have done this walk this year as it has been covered in deep snow since January & requires a cross country trek with few used paths.
