Ageing

When your son changes his car from a two-seater sports car to a two-door, nominally 5-seater, coupe one doesn't take much notice but when all of a sudden he exchanges the coupe for an SUV, you sit up & notice.

Having his brother in law over from Ireland to stay for the night two weeks ago & driving him to a garage in southern England to pick up a new used Volvo family estate, perhaps had an influence, even if his sister's, nephew's & niece's insistence on having a newer more environmentally friendly & safer car (now named Greta) was their chief motivator.

While he has a second car to do all the bags of cement, IKEA type jobs & transport his mountain bike, his personal life has taken a big change in the last few months and now the need to transport more than two grown-ups & a dog in a bit of comfort has required a change.

Today he picked up his new, used chariot from a dealer north west of London & it gave us the chance to have a good chat on the mobile while he sat in jams on the M25.   He assured me that after years of driving Audis, he hasn't changed the brand because of Brexit!
