The barbers apprentice......

......this 'strop' used to belong to my Dad when he was an apprentice barber before he enlisted in the army in 1939, so I'd guess it's mid 30's vintage given he left school when he was 14. And the extra is a picture (not mine obviously!) I found of the barbers in question on a local Facebook group.....it was in the (now long gone) wooden Coop building on the left and you can JUST make out the barbers pole! 

So, something else to file away/find a home for ;-)

EDIT :: (second extra) And CashtheCat STILL owns the shoes, CarrietheCat can only dream.......
