Surviving

I'm more than happy that both the cucumbers I planted up have survived their first few days of interesting weather, even if they are a bit scraggly. These Heath Robinson cloches have kept the bitter east wind at bay but they won't be much help if the predicted frost arrives. I'm hoping that's just a duff forecast.
Spent a few productive hours at the allotment; strimming and raking, hoeing and weeding, edging and generally tidying up. All of which were instead of sorting out the strawberry beds which is what I should have been doing but will be so much work I really didn't want to tackle it. Eventually though that was the only thing left to do. So I've started, lord knows when I'll get it finished!
