A brilliant day...

...the drain repair crew were here shortly after 8am.

I couldn't have asked for a better crew. I had a laugh with them before they started. They told me it was a 2 day job.

They did talk with my neighbour, but he refused to have his drains done on his side that lead into mine. And drove off...

I did blip many times in the weeks at the end of last year all the hassle and distress I had with him over his imprinted driveway, a job that went on for weeks and weeks and was a nightmare for me. They were travellers who did the work (you could tell), but the vans they used had logos of firms that did not exist or had gone bankrupt....

So my neighbour was not having anyone touch his precious imprinted driveway...even to repair the drains which keep blocking....

So the works crew did just mine. They were a different firm/contractor than the works crew that did the rest of the shared driveways in the road over a month ago. This crew laughed and joked all day long, but worked liked Trojans. I made coffee for them. Their energies were good.

The crew a month ago that did the rest of the shared driveways in the road used a digger to dig up the driveways and drains. It was all a muddy mess.

The crew that did mine used a circular saw and cut neatly away at the cement driveway just what was needed for their job of replacing and rebuilding the drains..

Mid afternoon, they said they were going to work on and push the job to finish it today for me.

I expressed my gratitude with more coffee. And they finished shortly before 6 pm. I couldn't have asked for a better crew or job.

It is all done and dusted. I think it was worth the wait in a sense because of the great workmen I got today.

And it didn't cost me a thing because it is a shared drainage system where I get all the nasty smelly stuff from next door. It would have cost a fortune or messing with insurance if it had been totally my drain system.

So I relaxed and chilled out today.

I downloaded a couple of collage apps, one recommended by Honeycombebeach.

One of them had some interesting silhouettes. And the first picture which is the thumbnail has been taken from the Snow goose inside the silhouette.

The rest of the pictures in the collage were photographs of Popeye, and photos of my garden, and where I was sitting on the swing and the app (which I just downloaded to play with) KaleidaCam, made my live photos into a kaleidoscope.

I was just messing and playing :)

Popeye is in the middle top one and the ones down the right side are him too :)

So, I chilled out today, which I need for tomorrow and the cochlear processor upgrade and reprogramming, and tests etc...

I texted my friend who also has a cochlear implant. I had mentioned her a month ago on blip, when I discovered that I had been offered the upgrade before she had. She was implanted a year before me and should have been offered the upgrade first. So the hospital person was motioning me, last month, not to say I had been offered it, and it was awkward talking with my friend that day, because she has now been told she has to wait for some years before she is offered the upgrade again, and she was spitting feathers.

So I texted my friend this morning to explain I was going for my yearly review, and that I had been offered the upgrade, and so I wouldn't be able to see her tomorrow. And waited apprehensively for her reply...

Apart from the first sentence in the text which was a little explosive, she then went on to say she hadn't attended her yearly review the previous month that she'd had an appointment for. And not told them she wasn't coming.

So, it looks like that was the reason I got the upgrade before she did.

I still find it sad though that she has lost out.

Anyway, she is okay with me on it now, and we are meeting for a coffee soon.

So, today is a very good day. Unbelievably good I think. I am grateful for such a good day.

I hope you all had a great day today.

Take care x
