Post Office Box Painting Department

It is hard to believe that the Crown left Ireland nearly 100 years ago. One thing that they did leave behind were their incredibly enduring post boxes. This one is on Killarney Road, Bray, Co Wicklow. For some reason the Post Office must have taken the decision to stop caring for them even though they are in use on a daily basis.

The Post Box painting department must have been written off or it faded out and rode off into the sunset. You would nearly be tempted to give it a lick of paint yourself. Anyway nothing made in this day or age will ever survive that long.
