Summer solstice 2012

I slept a little late to capture the moment the sun came above the horizon. There is far too much yellow in this photo of the low lying sun. But this is the first sunrise after the moment when the sun was at its farthest from the celestial equator, which was around 0100 today in New Zealand. Therefore, even with its imperfections, this photo is my choice for today.

Did lots around the property here, before heading off to a gathering organised by a younger colleague. Back home after 2200, and posting this photo from 0606 this morning.

Time to head for bed and sleep.
