Ropes

I took a trip out to Glencaple and the sailing ship I sometimes photograph is berthed there at the moment.  There seems to be a fair amount of work going on and these ropes along with others were lying on the grass.  I don't know the first thing about sailing ships, but ropes in all sorts of thicknesses seem to be a very important part of their operation.  I briefly spoke to someone who seemed to know something about the ship, he was from somewhere in the north of England, and what an accent!  It was really broad, I am a fan of regional accents and I struggled to make out what he was saying.  I should have asked where exactly he was from but I thought that would just cause me more problems.
