Aysgarth Falls
Back Blip
It was a misty morning and we set off for Aysgarth falls. We stopped to take the clouds clearing on the hills (see extra) and had a natter with a couple in a lay by.before arriving at Aysgarth. There is a visitors' Centre there so we were able to get information and a route to best see the falls. There are 3 sets of falls. This one is the lower set - I confess we rather detoured from the route and a bit of scrambling took us close to the action! I love the way the water had eroded the limestone to give these wonderful pools. The extra shows the middle falls.
On returning to the car park a light lunch before heading off again.
When I was at school we used to stay at an old house near the Ribblehead Viaduct and for some reason I decided it would be interesting to see if it was still there. So a slight detour and there it was - looking somewhat upgraded from the place we used to visit on field trips. Couldn't resist a few sheep images on the last bit of the journey. There were plenty of these local Swaledales with their young, often sat in the road admiring the stunning views!
