Scissor Happy

Many years ago, after a pointless 5th year at school, I decided I would become a hairdresser. (mainly because I wasn't allowed to stay on until 6th year and I didn't know what else do to

At the end of the 2 year Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy course, only around 5 potential hairdressers were left standing.
There were 2 awards to be given at the end of the course.
My friend Claire (who I still see) won the the hairdressing award and I won the beauty therapy award. which still amazes me as I used to do everyone's makeup like I did my own. Black mascara/eyeliner, pale foundation and shocking red lippy! Hmmm, best of a bad lot perhaps? :)

And my mum had to pay me a tenner to wear a skirt and a blouse to the award ceremony :) (in hindsight I should have haggled for more!

Anyhow, long story short :) ........ these scissors, which came in way back then at around £115, were my first ever pair of 'professional' scissors when I became a fully fledged hairdresser. They've been sharpened a fair few times over the years but hold many a memory :)
