Away

Tonight I've been packing for departing to Cambridge. I say 'tonight', but this is being uploaded on December 22nd and as such I'm already with the lovely Fe in Cambourne, Cambs.

This tree and house are on the green in my home hamlet of Newtoft. I don't class myself as a 'local' or even part of the community - I don't socialise with anyone from the estate (bar Kirky and Zanna who moved here after me and I knew anyway) but I do admire the efforts people have gone to in order to celebrate the festive period.

The houses here are amongst the cheapest in Lincs, mine was £82,500 and is a four bedroomed semi detached. The hamlet is literally in the middle of nowhere, and has very little amenities (a tin social club and some play equipment), but the local community work tirelessly to improve the place for those moving here, usually young couples or families on low incomes.
