Bardolino

Today we drove over to Lago di Garda. Masses of trucks on the autostrada but otherwise the journey was uneventful and the satnav did an excellent job of getting us to our hotel and avoiding the limited traffic zones. We are meeting friends who are staying in Bardolino for a week. They are in a different hotel at the opposite end of the town.

Our hotel is the white building to the left of the photograph. We were only planning to stay one night, but we decided to extend our stay to two nights which will give us a full day in Bardolino tomorrow.

One of the people we are meeting is celebrating her birthday today. We met up with them shortly after we arrived in the early afternoon, then again later for a very nice birthday dinner in the centre of Bardolino.

I had only packed for a one night stay. At the restaurant I noticed there was a men's wear shop next door. So after having ordered dinner I quickly popped in to the shop and bought a shirt for the extra day!
