WO II Memorial Day

May 4th is our national Memorial Day for WO II and all over the country memorial services are held; this is one of the services held in Den Haag today. I went to service at the monument for the men who "died on arrival" in the Operation Norht Pole... known in Holland as "Englandspiel"... that was a tricky undercover duty, of which they wonder still how it all went so wrong.

It's a cold day with hailshowers, but whatever the weather, people of all ages turned up at this service too.
