Black and Blue

Today was Annie’s step mum’s big birthday. After a proper hotel breakfast we all headed out for Snape Maltings, just up the road from Aldeburgh where we”re staying. We had a good walk, I (Chris) a little further than the rest and we had a cycle of weather, blue, black, blue, black! The black clouds came complete with hailstorms, the blue with some lovely sunshine.

After lunch we moved on to Thorpeness, had a walk on the beach and after hot drinks whilst sheltering from more hail, we were mobbed by the most swans I’ve ever seen once they clocked we had wild fowl food.

A final stop then for Annie and I was Sizewell. I walked up the beach to photograph the power station but then got caught in the biggest hailstorm of the day and arrived back at the car more than a little soggy.

A lovely dinner rounded off a great day, the blip taken near the maltings this morning.
