Kentallenite

We had a bit of a rest day after yesterday’s hillwalking with a mixture of activities such as kayaking, hill running, hillwalking and cycling. I went cycling from Duror back to Ballachulish on part of the Oban to Ballachulish cycle path. At its high point is a seat and geological display; the blip is taken there and the rocks in the foreground are type examples of the igneous rock, Kentallonite, found here in 1896. Later reclassification has identified Kentallenite as Olivine Monzonite, but it is still called by its original name as well. The hill in the background is the Corbett, Garbh Bheinn the other side of Loch Linnhe in Ardgour.

Yesterday’s blip.
