Handsome is as handsome does

I used to harbour negative thoughts about magpies as ruthless predators of the eggs and young of our garden birds. Now I realise the true ruthless predators are human beings, and that magpies are fine intelligent creatures who are only living according to their natures, and if it weren't for us, there would be a natural balance between predator and predated. So I welcome this chap into our garden, and his/her attitude to pigeons is rather similar to my own.
