Behind bars

We went to Cheriton today to follow the route of the eponymous battle of 1644, which was a major turning point in the English Civil War, resulting in a Parliamentarian victory that helped shape the future of England. This is actually the second time we've done the walk; this time it was for research and photographic purposes for an article to, hopefully, go in the county newsletter for which I'm a section editor. It's a really pretty walk with plenty of interesting things to see along the way, including a field full of young cows who ran enthusiastically alongside us, and these ones in a barn who were less excited to see us (particularly the one on the right).

Afterwards we took a detour to the Flower Pots pub to get some takeaway beer to drink while watching Line of Duty tonight.
