American Bittern

I was so excited this morning when I saw a bird flying towards me over the marsh. Even more excited that I had settings ready to capture birds in flight!  Excitement grew as I thought it was a Green Heron by the shape and body size.  Ecstatic when I realized it was an American Bittern!!  SO cool!!
