Exploring
We struck out north today....into Fife, where the Open Studios art trail was on. We started with breakfast at the Pillars of Hercules (not the Straits of Gibraltar ones!), chatting to a lady doing the open studios tour on her bike. Lovely to look round the gardens and farm shop and some tasty mushrooms on toast with a huge coffee (for once!).
Wandered around Falkland next. Lovely village with some beautiful buildings (and many old inscriptions like this one) and the 16th century Palace We didn't get anything from any of the studios but enjoyed walking around exploring and then looked round the palace (finally joined National Trust!), chatting to the volunteers about all the history.
Drove on to Cupar and some more studios then headed to St Andrews for an ice-cream, some browsing and then a rather delicious (but very filling) fish supper.
Although there's been plenty of sunshine today it's been rather chilly in the wind so we gave a beach walk a miss and headed home for a quiet evening before (drum roll.....) the finale to Line of Duty. Who on earth is H and what will the denouement be?! We'll have the drinks ready and be prepared for drama!
