Nursery
I spent much of today at my mother's pretending to be a telephone engineer. Her (new) phone has become very noisy and crackly so went on to talk talk chat for advice. Ended up unscrewing covers and testing cables. At the end if the day it looks as if an engineer will have to come out.
Before North Berwick I called in to one of the judges of the Scottish Government gardening and craft club show. Last autumn he asked, if I was dividing my rhubarb crown, if he could get an offshoot as the colour was very good. The rhubarb was in the garden when we arrived over 30 years ago so I don't know how old it is. Some of the roots were very woody and thick so I was not confident of success.
Nevertheless I must have done something right so today dropped off a new plant. He showed me round his greenhouses. This is one of 4 packed into a small garden. It is an industry! At least he does not need to worry about cutting the lawn - there is none.
