Me Mam was finding breathing difficult and had to be rushed into hospital ...

Ali and I jumped into the car and drove for five hours in appalling weather ...

We arrived in sunny North Shields to find me Mam sat on the sofa supping a cup of tea and watching a celebrity chef programme on the TV ..

Phew. Panic over ...

To clear my head I walked to St. Mary's Lighthouse. A Force 10 gale and horizontal rain certainly did the trick!

Ali and I went to the game and Newcastle United delivered the perfect Christmas present ... a home win and 3 points!
