It’s internationnal day/ week of the midwife and I managed to get myself involved in designing the ciriculum and facilitating the day with other colleagues for “Normalising Childbirth study day 1” ( when really I have other parts to my job that are more urgent ) but it’s such a medicaliased unit that we wanted to explore empowerment/ share skills/ update practice etc to increase confidence and knowledge in these areas .... but changing culture is a ponderously slow event, esp in Irish maternity services . The NHS is an amazing entity - not to be lightly complained about , try living without it!
