The Front

I have been meaning to show you our front garden - since Andy and I have been working on it and I have mentioned it several times in my blips.  As you can see it is still a work in progress - a few more plants to buy and we'd also like a bench under the window so we can sit in the evening and watch the sun go down.  At the moment the house faces out on to fields so it is a peaceful place to sit and watch the trees and sky, and to listen to the birds.

I've managed an hour at my allotment today - doing some trimming and watering.  I've a new allotment holder on both sides - yes, they have taken the allotments either side of me!  I had been thinking about taking on one of the plots but had hesitated as I don't want to over load myself.  The plot has a big thicket on it which the birds love - I think there are several pairs who are nesting in it at the moment as a white throat and robin watched wearily as I sat on my bench.  The new allotment holder spoke of ripping up the thicket which makes me rather sad.  If I see the person again I will have to let them know birds are in it nesting at the moment.
