Tour de Helvellyn

BlackrodLad in the final, fretful moments before the start of a race. Not just any race, but the 38 mile (and plenty of climbing) "Tour de Helvellyn" We started in the rain before daylight and finished after dark in the rain - probably didn't see the route at its best. In fact, It rained for almost all or perhaps all of the nine and half hours it took us to complete the race.

This was taken before we knew just how bad the conditions would be.
