Day 22: Decoration

I was up late sewing until 1:30 am and then L woke at 3:30, and then M at 5:30. Feel like a bit of a crazy lady today.

My amazing friend came an surprised us this morning by dropping of a huge hamper of goodies for the girls. Theres so much in there, its double layered with treats. I was speechless. J and I have tightened our belts this christmas like most of the nation so we made a decision not to buy any foody bits. I don't need to cook on xmas day so we didn't see the point. My jaw hit the floor when she arrived and the kids have been glued to it ever since. Keep discovering new things inside it. Theyve got to wait till xmas though....or at least try! It was such a kind and thoughtful thing for her to do, I wont forget it in a hurry.

I'm having a 'I love my husband day' today which is handy as he was off work. Yippee. He took the girls for a surprise trip to his coffee shop this morning for a slab of cake so I could stay and sort some of the xmas bits. Check whats for who, and that I've got everything Im supposed to. Im really proud of some of the things we've been creative with year, feel like we've pretty much achieved the impossible. With some help from friends along the way too. We're very blessed :)

In the afternoon we went into town. Not the proper big town that had cars queueing for miles to get to from 9am this morning, but the little local self sufficient one near us that no-one bothers with. Gave the girls £2 each to get daddy a present each. I think the kids enjoyed shopping for him and they certainly enjoyed wrapping them this evening.

Went to the church to put some flowers & a wreath on my mother in laws grave and gatecrashed the childrens service that was going on inside the church at the time. We missed most of it but came away with this (blip). I was a little confused but was too embarrassed to ask what it was all about. Very pretty though.

J's on his work xmas do this evening. He wasnt sick on his stag do earlier this year, or on the wedding so I fear we may be due one this evening. :-S
