My coworker who survived her surgery is hoping to go to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She was telling me about the security situation. I hope she can't get a visa. Now I understand how people felt when I had my first opportunity to go to a developing country:  Nigeria. 

I didn't wind up going - that time. My client, who was Nigerian, was told that if he went back to Nigeria he'd be shot at. I taught my class in Benin instead.
