Home Again
After a long trip back home again at the weekend, our feet are firmly planted on the ground, we experienced a bit of jet lag yesterday and this morning we eventually woke up at 8.30am, we are feeling back to normal now.
We left just as the park opposite our house was half demolished waiting for the new equipment to be installed, I'm glad to say its now up and running.
We have had stamps of approval by our youngest members the family, Ruby and Deklan both agree its the best park ever! even the older Grandies are pleased with it.
We left Glyn's Mum at the weekend feeling happy and relaxed in her new surroundings, after her lengthy stay in hospital after breaking her hip due to a fall, at the age of 91 she really could have done without the fall, she spent a week on the critical list but slowly started to come around just as we arrived expecting the worst.
She was adamant she didn't want to go back to her own home, long story short, the family had to find somewhere she would be safe and cared for, after her 5 week of hospital care and still needing 24/7 care.
Many times she just wanted to end it all, and found everything very difficult at the start of her recovery, it was a distressing time for everyone, but recover she did.
We all finally found the right home for her to continue her life as independent as she can be, she is wheel chair bound for now, we don't like to think that this is as far as she will get in her recovery but we have to accept that this could well be the case.
Glyn's mum has gained strength mentally and is now joining in activities the care home provides, its more like a 5 star hotel than a home for the elderly, we are hoping she continues on this new path in the last stage of her life, we could be putting her in our will yet...
