in other gardening news, 
after the excitement of the blue tit eggs in the gate box, 4 new nest boxes have been put up.  2 here, and 2 at Mary's Cottage.  hopefully they will feel part of the treescape for tits, robins and thrushes by next spring.
but i'm hoping we might get some visitors sooner than that.
