Poolside

Today is the first day of a four day road trip to the San Bernardino Mountains.
It’s a very long drive. K has treated us to an overnight stay at the Madonna Inn - camp and kitsch in equal measure.
We stayed in the Starlight Room (https://www.madonnainn.com/room-186-starlite).
I learned all about the El Camino trail marked with bells on the way.
We arrived in time to enjoy the bar with pink cushioned barstools before heading to the pool, spa, and hot tub.
After dusk we watched the bats flit across the rooftop from our balcony vantage point, as we listened to crickets and frogs and sipped bubbly.

A completely splendid day.
