Water of Leith walkway (Balerno to Leith)

It's almost the 2nd Saturday of the month again - and this coming weekend (11th May), we're going to do the whole of the Water of Leith route, from Balerno down to Leith ...

... some details follow:

- meet at 10am, Saturday 11th May
- at the side of Balerno High School; just at the entrance to the start of the Water of Leith Walkway
- Lothian Bus service number 44 goes to the High School in Balerno; see: https://www.lothianbuses.com/timetable/?service_name=44

- we'll start the walk just after 10am

- the 'total distance' is just under 13-miles; but it's obviously downhill all the way :-))
- should take us between 6 to 7 hours, with a generous break for lunch!

- there are plenty of places to stop along the way, including the Water of Leith visitor centre, which has a cafe: http://www.waterofleith.org.uk/centre/

- but please do also bring along a packed-lunch, and some general sustenance, given the length of the day/walk!
- and do just let me know if you want to do part of the route; and potentially meet us at the visitor centre (or elsewhere?) and we can liaise over times etc.

- we should evetually get to Leith between 4.30pm and 5pm, and I've got a large table provisionally booked at the Pizza Express, on The Shore, for 5pm: https://www.pizzaexpress.com/edinburgh-leith

And , after the meal, for anyone who isn't in a rush to escape Leith; there are obviously numerous good hostelries very nearby :-)
