Rydal Water
Backblip 4
Left Mum's this morning and headed toward Staveley but stopped en route for a walk round Grasmere and Rydal Water, almost warm at times! There are limited views from the old coffin road due to the trees but there was plenty of interest elsewhere with woods full of bluebells, garlic and birds.
Stopped for tea and cake in Grasmere.
Then on a roundabout route to Staveley, a bit of shopping and the campsite. This is a rather eccentric one on a very steep hill where the owner has levelled out spaces and planted trees and he takes your stuff up the hill for you (too steep for an ordinary car). There are also outside toilets with a view and an outdoor hot shower - though inside facilities as well. The extra shows the view from our tent
Walked down to the village pub for our meal .
