126/365: Duck Race

Despite the dullness and cool temperature, we had a great turn out in support of the local Girl Guides, raising much appreciated funds in exchange for a numbered duck plus an optional selection of cakes and snacks on offer. The ducks were accompanied on their swim by two kayakers, to help smooth their way downstream, for any that chose to take break in amongst the weeds.

The weather could be best described as typical for a May bank holiday in the truest English style. The rain at least stayed away before heading for a meal and drinks at the nearby Marlborough pub (traditional and highly recommended), having taken the precaution of booking a table in advance.  It was a fabulous meal, which gave us an opportunity to thaw out at leisure.
