on the wing...

...of a duck

they were out in force today - flying hither and yon... sliding on the ice - taking flight to the skies - fighting with each other... bickering over nothing - even quibbling (i made that word up)* at the geese, who barely honked in reply... clearly the ducks are feeling some pressure - holiday stresses - i won't mention it here in case they're lurking about...

for me - i was pleased to stand for a quiet moment - listening in the stillness of the afternoon air - to all the singing going on around me... (you know - the music their wings make when they fly)... it was sheer heaven every time the ducks took their wings to flight - making it delightful and one...

happy day.....

*editing note: turns out quibbling is a real word after all - boo! here i thought i was being creative with making it up - but i can't take credit for the darn word - it sure is a fun one, though...
