The miners' dry, Geevor tin mine

Geevor is just somewhere everyone who visits west Cornwall should visit, and the dry is extremely evocative of a time that is fading into history. The mine finally closed in 1990 and the pumps were turned off in 1991: I can remember walking past it in about 1980 and the sea was red.

Levant (an older mine in easy walking distance of Geevor) is also very much worth visiting.
