The dropped stitch

A real treat

On the way north again, but time for a stop in Pitlochry to see H.

We missed a planned meal out at New Year. We just ran out of days. So a table was booked for tonight.

A really enjoyable evening with tasty, beautifully presented food. Unused to dining out, we both enjoyed the little attentions to detail.

There was a light, nutty, homemade roll to start. It came with 2 tiny butter pats: one of carroway seed butter and one delicately flavoured with orange. We were impressed!

The highlight, though, had to be the desserts.
Mine was toffee and hazelnut flan, served with white chocolate ice cream. The plate was decorated with raspberry coulis and blueberries.

It would have made a beautiful blip, I thought... too late...
