Burray Beach
I got the bus down to Barrier 4 and walked along the beach to the north shore of South Ronaldsay, then east to Rumley Point and then to Honeysgeo. I almost didn't notice the seals hauled out there, I think the heat was making me as dozy as they appeared to be. On to Grim Ness and coffee out of the breeze, then on to the remains of the Irene. Not too much in the way of birds - a family of ravens, wheatear, common terns etc I carried on along The Grud to Kirkhouse. The nearby pool was busy with birds- 5 drake shovelers, wigeon, teal, mallard, swallow, coots, wheatear etc. Then up the hill where I watched a short-eared owl and finally on to to Margaret's Hope and the bus. My app says it was 12.5 km.
