Ready to bake
Two wedding cakes baked for four hours this afternoon in separate ovens. The parchment paper was to prevent the top of the cake becoming over cooked and the hole to allow steam to escape. Brown paper around the outside, again to prevent over cooking. They smell wonderful as they cook and then cool. Next challenge, do I have a large enough container. I will "feed" with brandy every 2-3 weeks before covering with a layer of marzipan in eight weeks time. Ten weeks today I will get to taste them.
