Windy Day at Tynemouth
Windy day at Tynemouth: The Runner
It stopped raining ! We managed to go out for a walk (Me, M and D) starting at the Fish Quay and then heading along to Tynemouth and then the Flea market. It is always spectacular along here when it is very windy; so strong in fact that you could lean backwards and it would hold you up!
This shot was taken by the 'Black Middens' where around 34 passengers and sailors drowned over 100 years ago in 1864 - on a snowy day and within touching distance of the shore. Perhaps their ghosts are still here, made even more atmospheric by the wind howling through the railings. A runner then ran past, going fast because the wind was directly behind him. I think it might be a different story on the way back.
Bought a bargain vinyl LP by Jackson Browne at the market and then we headed back for traditional fish and chips back at the Fish Quay. Home to a new roof !
This certainly 'blows the cobwebs away'
