Fumitory, poppies, lizards, medlars.

Fabulous light before the coming deluge. The Gulf of Genoa is a real centre of the Mediterranean cyclone industry at the moment, churning out low pressure areas with a violent piquancy 'in continuazione'. As I understand it disturbed cold air pushing around the side of the Alps flows into the Gulf and begins a process of cyclogensis - the temperature differential between this air and the mass of hot air over North Africa creates considerable energy. Once the process gets going  it is tio a certain extent self perpetuating if the low hangs over the Gulf of Genoa before moving off south and east.  WX charts is great for seeing these broader weather pictures. If they take your fancy.

Meanwhile this fumitory cried out to have its picture taken. As I speculated yesterday, it is names after smoke/fumes whether because of the flowers or foliage or by the way it spreads alarmingly.

Has many traditional herbal remedy uses.

The extras include a lizard - so nice to share these days with them, a poppy, and the surprising blossom on a tiny wild medlar tree I've rescued.

The forecast is talking about 5cm/2 inches of rain in the next 24 hours. And the ground is already pretty wet.
