Spray
9.8C and it would have felt quite mild if it hadn't been for the wind. Started dull with showers then bright.
The local news has been full of warnings of floods and road and rail closures today. People are on flood alert next to rivers and some seafronts. Sandbags. Rest centres have been open. Waterworld !
Sainsburys this morning for groceries and Christmas dinner. It was getting very busy. Glad we went early !
After lunch and when it had brightened up considerably Apothecary7, Maeve the Deerhound, and I went for a walk. We went down through the streets to the railway station, across the level crossing, and down to the seafront. The waves were rolling into the beach in huge numbers and the wind was blowing the spray off the tops and into the air like fine mist. Quite a sight in the bright clear winter sun.
It felt so good to be out and about in the dry and the light :-)
Later I cooked the turkey crown we shall be having on Christmas day. Saves overcomplicating the Christmas day cooking. For this evening I shall make a Thai green curry and we shall sample a bottle of fizz :-)
