The Telephone Pole

Wandered into my Mums last week and looked up at the pole at her back gate and thought " I'll need to shoot that" then thought, wait a minute we've been here 30 years where did that come from.

For over thirty years there has been a line running to the neighbouring houses. The telephone company have now decided that they need a pole half way, at my parents gate, looming over the garden, and narrowing the narrow lane to it (no doubt it conforms with elf'n'safety rules though).

Council were duly called and councillor wanders round and pointless conciliatory noises were made. Needless to say the pole is there and damn anybody that complains.
