M arrived first thing bringing Charlie (Schnauzer) to stay.

It's her 71st birthday tomorrow, so I stuck a tiny candle in a croissant and made us all an al fresco brekkie before she set off for the UK.

Then we popped to see a friend who has just ticked off another week of chemo. She was looking really good and in great spirits so that was good.

Then time to make a start on the painting of those metal chairs. I've almost done one - needs to dry now before I turn it round and do the front.
It'll be a slow job, but that's fine... caught up with a couple of podcasts too so that always helps.

V's five days off nearly at an end - he's not longing to go back to work tomorrow :( it's been fun.
