Lounging .....

..... lizards.

I've had a day out with my dad today. First stop was a cafe for a big fried breakfast and then we had a drive out to Crews hill, an area full of garden centers and pet/aquatic centers. We had a wander around looking for toys as Christmas presents for my parents dogs and I also took plenty of photos of all the furry, feathered and scaly creatures in the various specialist pet centers. I didn't write down what species these lovely little lizards are, but they were full of character.

After a few fun hours wandering around we stopped off at a farm shop on the way back home. A couple of cakes were purchased and I made a fuss of the farm dog and tried photographing the giant shire horses there ( without much success ). Just down the road from my parents house is an equestrian centre and riding school, so I called in and asked if I could take some photos of their horses to practice my equine photo skills. I have to say I have a new found admiration for horse photographers as they are tricky beasts to get a good shot of. My mum used to own horses and some of my earliest memories are of toddling around stables and being sat on the back of horses, so it was nice to see, stroke and photograph the couple of dozen horses there.

Since visiting the wildlife photographer of the year exhibition a couple of days ago I seem to be drawn to photographing animals and despite living in London my parents house is near to loads of farms and woodland ( as well as pet centers ) so gritty urban scenes aren't on the doorstep here. I don't know if this is quiet what you were expecting from my London photos, but today's blip is of .....

..... Lounging lizards.

I have put a couple of my equine portraits from today in a set here
