Street

I miss when this wasn’t an adjective that could be applied to a person.

My son went to an audition for a TV show. The auditions were being held in Glasgow, but by someone from London.

Before he’d even opened his mouth, the guy asked him to play the scene twice, one in his own accent (“but could you make it a bit less Scottish, so I can understand”), and then a second time “a bit more Street, you know?”.

So he did it once in his own Edinburgh accent, which was deemed sufficiently ‘less Scottish’, and once doing an impression of the guys own accent, which was apparently exactly what he had in mind.
