Magheraroarty Beach
Today's the day ………………………. to beachcomb
The Wild Atlantic Way, one of the longest defined coastal routes in the world, winds its way for 1600 miles all along the Irish west coast from the Inishowen Peninsula in the north to County Cork in the south. On the way it takes in most of the coastline of Donegal - and this is one of its most spectacular bays at Magheraroarty.
Inshore is one of the best views of the Seven Sisters, part of the Derryveagh Mountains. The peak you can see here is called Muckish Mountain. Then offshore, 26 miles away, is the island of Tory - and it's from the harbour in Magheraroarty that a small ferry takes passengers to and fro.
And that's where we'll be going tomorrow …………………….
