The Bridge at Clay Lane
Just a short trip today to Clay Lane on the way to Chudleigh Knighton. The grade 2 single carriageway bridge dates from the mid 19th century and is haunted by the devil. It's certainly a devil of a job to get across because you can't see traffic coming from the other side until you get halfway up, so someone's always have to back up.
It's quite peaceful once you get down to river level apart from the occasional honking of a horns a someone warns of their approach (and much good it does them).
