Notre Dame!
Up early & after breakfast walked from hotel near Opera House to the Louvre, the architecture in Paris is magnificent! Walked over to Isle de la Cité, visited Saint Chapelle , the church next to The Court House, security is strict, lots of armed police around, stain glass in this old church is stunning! There was a marquee in the square opposite, it’s a Bread festival! We wandered in, watched the bakers and sampled a few pieces! Oh French bread is so yummy! The area immediately around Notre Dame is cornered off, with armed police guards. We walked back to cross over to the other side of the island to take a hop on hop off boat, this is the view from the bank of the river over to the Cathedral! Sad to see the church without its spire! Boat trip all the way down the Seine to Eiffel Tower, alighted, walked around, didn’t go to top, walked back over river and over towards L’Arc de Triopmhe, stopped for lunch and wine at a pavement cafe! Superbe! Climbed the stairs to to of the L’Arc ( lift was out of order! ) 300 steps approx! The views are amazing!!
Walked down the Champs Élysée ( rude not to!) such a beautifully warm spring day!
By the time we arrived at the hotel we had walked just over 25000 steps! Time for a drink and good and bed!!
A wonderful day ! I love Paris!
