Happily Chained

I passed this bicycle whilst out on my lunch-time blip-wander, and couldn't help thinking that although the poor thing is all chained up to the railings, it does look remarkably happy considering. It's nice and clean, and looks well maintained, and there's a good-and-proper functional-type wicker basket mounted to the front. Even the D-Lock used to shackle it to the metalwork has a nice swatch of orange in it, lifting its predicament further out of melancholia and accentuating its quirkiness. And then there's the streamers attached to the handlebars, gleefully blowing in the wind, dancing around and grabbing the attention of anyone who will pay them a glance. It's basically the bicycle equivalent of the cute little puppy that's tied up outside Tesco, wagging its little tail as folk go past, hoping that someone - anyone - will stop for a minute and pet it. In true man-flu fashion, feeling much better today, and was back in the office relatively sniffle and sneeze free. The cloudy head from Monday afternoon had also disappeared, so the day was quite productive.
