The Jolly Roger

A day in Bury researching the latest superlative walk. Superlatives include Bury's famous market (from which I bought two lovely pieces of salmon and a large custard tart for tonight's dinner); the Gallipoli memorial garden, which commemorates the sacrifice of the Lancashire Fusiliers who, at the end of Word War One, had been awarded more Victoria Crosses than any other infantry regiment in the British Army; and Burrs Country Park, which features three works forming part of the Irwell Sculpture Trail - the largest sculpture route in the UK.

And no, I didn't have lunch at the Jolly Roger - instead I visited the splendid Clarence Inn.
