Reaching for the sky

One of the smaller cordyline is putting out a flower that seems a trifle large for the size of the plant. We are new to coryline having inherited them with our new garden so we don't really know their habits ( in fact we thought they were yuccas until a friend from NZ visited and put us right). We had one flower from the biggest plant last year but I don't think it was as big as this little fellow is putting out. Have we got a triffid?
